Eestern Ghats

1) They are continuous and run parallel to the western coast from north to south.

2) Their average height is in between 900 and 1600 metres.

3) Another important peak is the Doda Betta (2637m).

Eastern Ghats

1) They are discontinuous and dissected by rivers like the Mahanadi, the Godavari the Krishna and Kaveri which flow into the Bay of Bengal.

2) Their average height is 600 metres.

3) Mahendragiri (1,501m) is the highest peak.
