The animal which show presence of notochord throughtout the life at some stage of embryonic development are called Chordates.
Non- chordate:
The animal showing abesence of a notochord are called non-chordates. Non-chordates show ventral and ganglionated nerve cord and gill slits are not restricted to pharyngeal region.
