the sound having too much higher frequency which cannot be heard by human being are called ultrasonic sound or ultrasound . in other words the sound having frequency greater than 20000 Hertz are called ultrasound . For example :- a sound of frequency 100,000 Hertz in an ultrasound . the ultrasound is reflected just like ordinary sound wave and produce echoes . but the echoes produced by ultrasound cannot be here the by our fears that can only be detected by special equipment . due to its high frequency of ultrasound has a much greater penetrating power than ordinary sound . so it can be used to detect object under the sea and organ inside the human body . these days ultrasound is used for a large number of purposes .
