Peninsular rivers are seasonal i.e, they​ flourish with water only in monsoon season . The Deccan plateau mainly consist most of the Peninsular rivers .Peninsular rivees are comparatively smaller or less broad than the perinial river but The Godavari is the largest Peninsular river also known as Dakshin Ganga . Every river drain in the Bay of Bengal . But only the two Peninsular river Narmada & Tapi drain in the Arabian sea.

Peninsular rivers are seasonal as their flow is based on rainfall. During the dry season, even the large rivers have reduced flow of water in their channels. The peninsular rivers have shorter and shallower courses as compared to their Himalayan counterparts .Some of the peninsular rivers originate in the central highlands and flow towards the west...
