On 13 April 1919 at approx. 5 pm Jallianwala Bagh took place in Amritsar.  On that day a large crowd gathered to celebrate Baisakhi in the ground of Jallianwala Bagh. Many of the people came from outside to celebrate Baisakhi but they were unaware of the Martial Law had been imposed by the General Reginald Dyer. He blocked the exit and killed thousands of people by shooting them about 10 minutes he opened the fire on the people. People were jumping into the well to save their lives and this well was known as the human well as 1000s were dead into that well. General Dyer's objective was to create a moral effect to create a feeling of terror of wave.
