Montmorency was the dog of narrator (Jim) .He is a fox terrior. He looks innocent by face but actually he was not. Narrator present him as a human being and also show us his thoughts .He always troubles his master. He thinks himself as a strong but but he get abused by a black cat. He was the leader of the street dogs and always responsible for the stree fight. He make mess while packing the thing. He squeezed all the lemons by thinking them as rat and also put his leg in jam. He brought rats while making the Irish stew but the friends refused to put them in. He also burried hi nose while one of the friends was making eggs. He also joined the three friends on boat trip but he actually don't want to go.
