Biggs boy was a greengrocer from whom the narrator purchased fruit and vegetable. He was an unprincipled boy who was notorious for villainous and criminal activities in the neighbourhood. It was rumored that at the time of the Great Coram Street murder, he was the chief suspect. The evidence against him was so strong that he could escape form the charge only by giving an alibi. He had a whole lot of villainous and criminal errand boys in his gang. When the narrator, Harris, Montmorency, along with their things piled up at the door, were waiting for an empty cab to go to the station, Biggs boy happened to pass by. Seeing them he stopped; his accomplices began gathering there. Biggs made fun of the narrator's cumbersome packing for their journey. Finally, when an empty cab came after a long time, the narrator and Harris packed their luggage onto it. As they drove away, Bigg's boy threw a carrot after them for luck.
