Xylem transports and stores water and water-soluble nutrients in vascular plants. Phloem is responsible for transporting sugars, proteins, and other organic molecules in plants. Vascular plants are able to grow higher than other plants due to the rigidity of xylem cells, which support the plant.

xylem --- it is a plant Vascular tissue that convey water and dissolved minerals from the root to the rest part of the plant and also provide physical support. xylem tissue consists of a variety of specialized , water conducting cell known as tracheary element.

Phloem--- it is also called bast, tissues in plants that conduct food made in the leaves to all other parts of the plants. phloem is composed of various specialized cell called Stevie tubes, companion cells, phloem fibre and phloem Parenchyma.
