Description about the onset and retreating of the monsoon winds.​

1.)  The onset monsoon arrives at the southern part of the Indian peninsula in June first week and is a zonal asymmetric temperature anomaly. It divides into two branches  – the Arabian Sea branch and the Bay of Bengal branch

2.) While the retreating monsoon is defined in terms of vertical wind shear and is starts in the middle of September – November and lasts till early January.

3.) The Monsoon, unlike the trade winds, is not steady wind but is pulsating in nature, affected by different atmospheric conditions encountered by it, on its way over the warm tropical seas.
