at first some national leaders thought that states based on language may affect country's unity but after it proved that even after separating linguistic states India showed up a good unity and after some year government stopped publishing go in English this made non Hindi speaking states conflict after strong protest government started producing GO in both english and Hindi, still now has no official language because only40 percent of population spoke hindi

This is very important when one needs to communicate with a non Indian or an Indian who speaks a different vernacular language from the rest.
