Muni is an old man who is the protagonist of the story a horse and the two goats once he was a prosperous man as he had a flock of 40 sheeps and goats but now the flock is reduced to just two goats he and his wife leave in the village of kritam where the Bailey survive without anyone to take care of them and without any income everyday he goes with his goats to the outskirts of the village where there is a large horse statue he sits under the shade of the Statue and spend his day While his goods carry on grazing nearby sitting here he memorizes about his younger days when he was in financially stable state and had enough to eat he goes to the village support to ask for things in debt of you not only mocks him but also returns in empty handed he is even humiliated by his wife though he knows that his wife loves him and somehow I managed to get some food for him here he is also someone who fears authority as is represented in the Story when the American comes in Khaki dress he is fearful of his presence is going to be a policeman.
