Answer:

Explanation:

During 1845 the weavers of Silesian started revolting against contractor who was assigned with supplying raw materials to them. The weavers were then given orders by contractor to make a finished product but at a very low price. This made the weavers live in an extreme poverty and misery condition.

Frustrated and dissatisfied by the behavior of the contractor, the weavers on 4th June marched in pairs in large numbers from their homes to the contractor`s mansion for seeking higher wages.  The contractor showed little apathy towards them and were even threatened.

A group of weavers forcibly entered the house and started smashing furniture, porcelain and window panes etc.  Some of them got their way into the storehouse and tored the supplies of clothes to shreds.

Fearing more trouble, the contractor along with his family fled to a nearby village. The villagers however refused them from providing any shelter. He returned back after 24 hours only after requisitioning army. Eleven weavers were shot dead following the exchange that followed.

Hope this helps.

The cause of the Silesian weaver's uprising was the cheating of the weavers by the contractors. In 1845, the weavers raised a revolt against the contractors who used to supply them raw material to weave textiles in finished form. The contractors drastically reduced their payments.
