Mr. Keptor was Anne's math teacher. He was annoyed with Anne because she talked too much in the class. But Anne was able to justify her talkative nature every time she was punished by him. On three occasions he gave her topics to write essays as a punishment. After reading the third essay he was impressed by the manner in which she presented her arguments. He accepted the fact that Anne was talkative and would remain that way. So after that she was allowed to talk in class.
