The basic unit is nephron consisting of bowmen capsule and tubules.

The blood in the incoming vessel is filtered out into the space in bowmen capsule a cup like space.there are spaces like sits in the wall which will determine the size of particles to go out of blood.

Big molecules like albumin blood cell stay put where as solutes water glucose etc filter out.

Two opposing forces act here

1.the hydrostatic pressure acting by blood on blood vessel.favouring fluid to go out.

2.the osmotic pressure of albumin like a faint filtration.actually a balance of these forces and the condition of membrane etc.are few of the multitude of factors controlling it.

Many of the objects filtered is reabsorbed and some are secreted in other parts of nephron leading to ultimate URINE.

This is a waste product contains toxic chemicals not required by body. Human body is the most efficient engine so nothing is wasted. What is secreted is real waste so those who drink urine by therapy is putting kidney into overload.
