Answer

Hector Hugh Munro was a British writer famous for his mischievous and twist at the end stories.

Explanation

Eleanor and Suzanne were good friends. They plan to get a most expensive gift from Suzanne's wealthy cousin named Bertram. In doing so, they planned to mislead Suzanne's wealthy cousin to a  mall famous for selling expensive items. But just before they met the cousin.

Rather than telling Bertram that Suzanne wants costly fur, she tells him that Suzanne wants a fan, which is exactly what she does not require. Eleanor avenges Suzanne for not helping her quit the game of bridge. Eleanor gets her vengeance, as well as the fur Suzanne craved. In the end, Eleanor received the fur. Suzanne may not feel as secure about herself now that Eleanor has the fur. Saki could also be shining a spotlight on the current state of society.
