After much reluctance he takes it. He takes the diamond to the local jeweler so that it can be appraised. He is absolutely astonished upon hearing that it is worth almost a million dollars. He goes home to tell his wife the good news and she too is astonished.
However they had plans to go away for the weekend so they had to come up with a safe place to hide the diamond. They decide to freeze it in an ice cube tray. When they return, they find that their house had been broken into and they found their diamond to missing.
