Bromine water test.
This test is use to distinguish between unsaturated and saturated hydrocarbon.
To test first take bromine water in 2 different flasks. Now, as we know bromine water is of red colour. Now add saturated and unsaturated hydrocarbon to test in different flask and see which flask decolourises bromine water. The flask which decolourises bromine water is unsaturated hydrocarbon and which doesn't is saturated hydrocarbon.
