Hinsberg's test is used to recognize the difference between the ethylamine and diethylamine from each other.
When the ethyl amine gets treated with the aqueous potassium hydroxide and benzene sulphonyl chloride, it gives a clear solution(potassium salt) as the output of the reaction.
When you take diethylamine on the same treatment, it gives insoluble substance.

Hey !!
Ethylamine gives foul smelling ethyl isocyanide on heating with chloroform and potassium hydroxide solution.
Dimethylamine does not give this test.
C₂H₅NH₂ + CHCl₃ + 3KOH -----> C₂H₅NC + 3KCl + 3H₂O
Good luck !!
