ANSWER :

Potassium chloride (KCl) and Potassium nitrate (KNO3) can be distinguished by doing a chemical test with the help of Silver Nitrate solution (AgNO3).

The first step is to mix the given potassium chloride and potassium nitrate in water separately in different test tubes. After they get dissolve in water, add little amount of silver nitrate solutions in both the test tubes.

In of the test tube a precipitate of silver chloride (AgCl) will appear. It implies that the unknown matter is the potassium chloride.

Whereas the test tube containing the potassium nitrate will not undergo any reaction with silver nitrate solution.
