Give a chemical test to distinguish between Potassium carbonate and potassium sulphite.​

HOPE IT HELPS YOU AS FROM MY SIDE:-

You can check it through acid test.

Basically you check by the way that when any carbonate compound is treated with acid it gives CO2 gas.. and when any sulphite compound is treated it gives out either SO2 gas OR SO3 gas.

Sodium carbonate when treated with dil. H2SO4 will liberate colourless odourless gas with brisk effervescence. The gas will turn lime water milky and will have no effect on acidified potassium permanganate solution. Sodium sulphite when treated with dil.
