The Jorhat Sarbajanik Sabha was founded in 1884 at Jorhat, Assam. It was an initiative of famous Assamese tea-planter Jagannath Barua. The purpose of the Jorhat Sarbajanik Sabha was to represent the wishes and aspirations of the people to the British Government.
