In the summer of 1893, Helen visits the World's Fair with Dr Bell and was delighted to touch the exhibits there. She saw though the displayed pieces and modles. She liked to visit the Midway Plaisnance which seemed like the "Arabian Nights". Here she experienced India, Cairo and Viking ship - stories she had read in her books. She also examined a modle of the Santa Maria, one of the three ship used by Columbus.
Mr Higinbotham,President of the World's Fair, kindly gave her permission to touch the exhibits.At the Cape of Good Hope exhibit,she learnt about the process of miming diamond.
Dr Bell went everywhere with Helen and in his own delightful way descibed the objects of greatest interest like the telephones, autophones,phonographs and other inventions.They visited the authropological department. Helen Sharank from touching the Egyptian mummies.All these experiences added a grear many new words to her vocabulary and this Helen considered a great achievement and progress in her life.
