Description of the Peasant:
A Poor peasant fixed out early one morning to cultivate, taking with him for his breakfast a crust of dough. He got his plough ready, enclosed the bread in his coat, put it underneath a bush, and fixed to work. After a while when his horse was tired and he was hungry, the peasant set the plough, let the horse loose to graze and went to get his coat and his feast

In the story, the peasant is initially described as kind, gentle and warm, however, with time as he grew wealthy, he became harsh, selfish and also alcoholic.
