Ganga is holy river of India. Ganga is very spiritual of Indian bhakt. bank of Ganga their r many temples. Ganga ghat is famous for Ganga aarti.
The Ganges River originates from the Himalayas Mountains at Gomukh, the terminus of the Gangotri Glacier.
The melting water from the Himalayas, as well as water from tributaries and rainfall, all feed the sacred river. The Ganges flows south and east from the Himalayas, forming a canyon as it leaves the mountain. It winds its way through northern India, eventually emptying into the Bay of Bengal. The Ganges’ many tributaries originate from the nearby countries of Nepal, Bangladesh, and China (in an autonomous region called Tibet).
It then flows through the Indo-Gangetic Plain, a vast fertile area that makes up most of the northern and eastern parts of India as well as parts of Pakistan, Nepal, and Bangladesh. Part of the Ganges river is also diverted toward the Ganges Canal for irrigation in the state of Uttar Pradesh. In Bangladesh, the river’s main branch is known as the Padma, then downstream as the Meghna, before flowing into the Bay of Bengal and creating the world’s largest delta – the Ganges Delta – a vast and highly-fertile sediment-laden area.
