This style of architecture is very famous in northern India.The most important feature of the temples were its decorations. It is reflected in the architectural styles. The temples serve as Religious, Administrative centres, Centre of education.

The distinctive feature of the Nagara style of architecture temples are :

Garbhagriha: its a  a small cubical structure with a single entrance where the idol is placed.

Mandapa: its the entrance , and it served as a hall for a large number of worshippers.

Shikhara or Vimana: it is a mountain like spire of a free standing temple
