Inflammation is basically the recruitment of White Blood Cells (WBC) sent by the Immune System to protect us from the disease causing microbes..                          Sorry i have no idea about Inflammation of joints...

General term that describes inflammation of joints is known as Arthritis.

Most commonly there are 2 types of arthritis:

1) Rheomotoid arthritis
2) osteoarthritis arthritis
