1. Biological weathering is also known as organic weathering because it involves the breakdown of rocks and soil by the contribution of biological factors including plants and animals. Animals and plants release acid forming chemicals that acidify and corrode rock minerals and cause weathering.

2.Vegetation : Roots of large trees reach deep into rocks and cause physical disintegration due to pressure. Most of : vegetation, however, prevents disintegration of rocks because it binds the surface layer and does not allow exposure of rocks beneath to the elements of weathering.

3. Chemical weathering is negligible because in the polar region the rocks get covered by snow or heavy layers of ice which breaks the contact of the rock with the outer atmosphere. This means that oxygen , carbon dioxide,etc cannot get access over the rock due to which chemical weathering is not possible.
