(i) The earth being at optimum distance from the sun that means not too far not too close from the sun, it has moderate temperature. atmosphere, hydrosphere, lithosphere, biosphere together makes the earth a habitable planet.

(ii) The earth is the only planet which is called watery planet. the earth contains 70% of water or hydrosphere, it is seen blue in satellite pictures, because of much content of water.

(iii) A decrease of the top temperature increases the water density in that layer, which is responsible for the growth of a mixing layer of uniform density. In the course of the night the temperature of the mixing layer decreases gradually and, as a consequence, the depth of the mixing layer also increases
