Explanation: Water bodies, though have a little thermal response are known to be best radiation absorber and provide evaporative cooling in which the water vaporizes, as the solar radiation reaches the water surface and remove the heat, thereby cooling the surrounding features. The increased availability of water augments evaporation and the related uptake of latent heat providing an additional daytime cooling. The influence of surface water features on the transformation of sensible and latent heat fluxes is very significant for the urban climate. The high heat capacity of water forms the “thermostat effects” of surface water features in comparison to neighboring built-up materials. Also, high evaporation produces noticeable “oasis effects” of water features and play a significant role in decreasing nearby surface and air temperatures
