Female foeticide, infanticide, lack of proper nutrition, etc are the issues of decreasing number of girl child in India. By default if a girl child take birth she face other types of discrimination and negligence by their parents and society such as basic nutrition, education, living standard, dowry death, bride burning, rape, sexual harassment, child abuse, and so many. It is very sad to express all the violence against a girl child in our society. India is a country where women are worshiped and called as mother, are still suffering male domination in various ways. According to the UN report, around 750,000 girls are being aborted annually in India especially in the Punjab and Haryana. If the practice of abortion continues for next few years, we surely will see a day without mothers and thus no life.

Generally we all feel proud to be an Indian but for what, to see girl child abortion and other violence against them. I think, we have rights to say ‘proud to be an Indian’ only when we respect and save girl child. We should realize our responsibilities of being an Indian citizen and give a better stop to this evil crime.

Beti Bachao Beti Padhao was the campaign to stop female infanticide and more and more educate the girls. In India, Many people thought that girls r burden on parents. The peoples always thought of having a boy child only. But now the scenario has been changed, Some people in the society had ended this discrimination and started havung girl child also. Though there were some people also who don't like girl child. Earlier, girls were forced to get married in their early ages and parents even don't want to educate girls but nowadays girls have their own rights and they r more educated and well settled than boys. Girls play a very vital role in the society. There is a saying that " If u educate a boy, his knowledge is limited to him and his family but if u educate a girl, it is profitable to her family and that family where she will be going to married. " So, save girl because our future will be impossible without them.
