helen's association with dr. alexander graham bell started when she was just 6 years old...it was a fortunate moment as her parents had approached him to get his expert advice on how to educate helen...dr bell advised them to contact the perkins institute for the blind..he remained a friend of helen and he accompanied her and miss sulliavn on a trip to the world's fair..many things in the fair fascinated helen...dr bell showed her the telephones..autophones.and other inventions....he was tender and sympathetic...this attitude of his won helen's heart...he was the door that opened the world for helen...he was deeply committed to the education of hearing imapired..he founded the volta bureau for the deaf...he was a teacher of the deaf and this passion and professional expertise made him develop on the nature of sound that enabled him to invent the telephone....he was very tender..poetic and humurous...this made him work for the children and espacially the physically challenged children...he remained a good friend of helen throughout his life.....

Alexander Graham Bell, the inventor of the telephone was a good friend and companion to Helen. He remained a great support to her.

Dr. Alexander Graham Bell first met keller when she was six years old and her parents brought her to him for advice on how to teach her. This meeting was not only the beginning of a long friendship between Dr. Bell and Helen, but it was also proved to be foundation of helen's education and life. In fact, Helen has decided her autobiography "The Story of My life" to him. she has mentioned his sympathetic and tender nature that made her love him from her first visit itself. It was at this suggestion that Helen's father wrote to Mr. Anagnos and subsequently found miss Sullivan as a teacher of Helen. She visited him at his home and laboratory. He appears to be wonderful and patient teacher who could instill enthusiasm and interest in his students. He was a humorous person and had love for children, party those who were deaf.
