Helen Keller was born in Tuscumbia Alabama, the USA on June 27, 1880. She suffered from a serious illness at the age of 19 months that left her blind and deaf. Even then she devised gestures and actions to make herself understood to other people and she had an inclination to perform household chores such as folding laundry and tried to remain as much a part of the family as possible. Over the years, her frustration grew her angry and hostile and she often erupted into uncontrolled fits. Helen Keller had overcome the seemingly insurmountable obstacles of deafness and blindness to become a lecturer and a social activist. She wrote the Story of my life which was published in 1903 in the US. The book was well received followed by Midstream, My Later Life. She was motivated by many people in her life like Miss Anne Mansfield Sullivan, Dr. Anagnos , Dr. Alexander Graham Bell, Dr. Everett Hale, Bishop Brooks and the most important one her father Arthur H. Keller and her mother Kate Adams. These people were the true epitome of love, care, patience and faith
