Answer:

Because water can easily flow  through these highly divide leaves without any damage.

Generally a terrestrial leaf is large due to carry of high amount of  Stomata but in submerged plants they lacks sunlight and do not carry high amount of Stomata . Therefore ,they have no problem with highly thin and highly divided leaves in this purpose.

  • By this way they protect themselves From water currents .
