1.The earth's rotation and strong seasonal winds push surface water away from some western coasts , so water rises on the western edges of continents to replace it, which is why the ocean is so much colder on the east coast than the west coast . " This is the reason why warm current produce a milder climate .

2.Ocean currents and sea surface temperatures are primarily responsible for moisture content and rainfall amounts on each coast. Eastern Coast of the USA is comparitively cold due to the cold Labrador current which flow from the Arctic Ocean to the East coast of Nova Scotia.

3.The Western coast of Norway is not frozen in winter due to the warm effect of Gulf Stream or the North Atlantic Drift touching the coast.
