Exploration of Tut's mummy:
Explanation:
- King Tutankhamun was the last of his dynasty's descendants. The end of a dynasty was signified by his funeral. Tut's tomb was filled with gold because the royals of Tut's day were exceedingly wealthy and believed they could take their wealth with them when they died. Howard Carter, a British archaeologist, uncovered his tomb in 1922, more than 3000 years after his death. Carter was enthralled by the royal collection of jewellery and glittering antiques. The boy King's tomb was thronged with visitors. The circumstances behind King Tut's death and the events that followed are unknown. An anatomy professor X-rayed the mummy in 1968, more than 40 years after Carter's discovery. He made a stunning revelation. Tut was missing his breastbone and front ribs.
