1.orrisa jharkhand belt: high grade hematite ore is found in badampur mines of mayubhanj. Singbhum district in jharkhand.
2.durg bastar chandrapur belt: high grade hematite is found in bailadils range in bastar chattisgarh. This iron is exported to japan through vizag port.
3. Bellary chitradurga chikmangalur tumkur belt: the kudremukh mines in karnataka are a 100 percent export units. They are one of the largest deppsits in the world. It is transported in slurry to new mangaluru port.
4. Maharasthra goa belt: ratnagiri district in maharasthra. Chrap iron is produced and exported through margoa port
