=> Even after Ranga'a disapproval , the narrator is fixed on getting him married at all costs. He remembers that Rama Rao's niece - Ratna , a Girl of 'bout 11 had come to stay with him after her parents passed away . So , he fixes Ranga's meeting with her . He listens her sing and is instantly impressed. After this , Shyama tutors the village astrologer 'Shastri' about the same.
=> Finally , after a long struggle their alliance is fixed up and the two are happily married . The story ends with the narrator going to attend their son's - "Shyama" birthday party - the child they had named in the narrator's honour as their thanks for their alliance .
