Dobereiners Law of triads stated that the average of the first and third elements' atomic masses is the atomic mass of the second element

Some examples of Dobereiner triads is :

Li, Na, K   (Lithium, Sodium, Potassium)

Atomic mass of :

  1. Li = 6
  2. Na = 23
  3. K = 40

Therefore by Dobereiner's Law of triads,

Average atomic mass of Lithium and Potassium = Atomic mass of Sodium

Average atomic mass of Lithium and Potassium = (6+40)/2

                                                                                    = 46/2

                                                                                    = 23 = Mass of Na
