Peter Van Daan is a character of the novel The Diary of a Young Girl . He was the only child of Mr. and Mrs . Van Daan . He was very shy & introvert . At first, when they got into hiding he didn't talked to anybody and remained upstairs . But slowly & gradually he started talking to Anne though she took the initiative but he began getting comfortable with her . He was aggressive. He didn't liked to be treated as baby as his mother did. He hadn't had any friend in his early times , but when he got into hiding & started confronting Anne he got opened and talked openly . Gradually he started liking Anne & fell in love with her.
