When I was in my first year, we were taken for a EVS trip. When we got into our college bus, we were shouting for the driver to put on songs, but our professor scolded us telling that was not needed as this was an educational trip.
While traveling, I was playing in my mobile and suddenly I blacked out. I was unconscious for almost half hour. When I woke up there was a large number of shouts and cries. I didn’t realise what was happening.
When I turned and looked at my friends, they got scared seeing blood coming out from my face and started screaming. Only then did I realise, our college bus met with an accident with a government bus and the driver fled the scene.
Since I was sitting in window seat, the window broke and it fell over me. I was totally covered with glass pieces and those glass pierced had pierced my face for blood to come.
To be honest, I was not having any pain and so didn’t realise that I was hurt. The news of the accident fled so fast that all my friends in other buses started calling me. I was not in a position to talk and was totally in shock.
A guy who was sitting in front of my seat had his bone in right elbow displaces and he was bleeding non-stop. Likewise a couple of us who were sitting in the window side were hurt.
Then we were immediately rushed to Trichy government hospital. They gave us the first aid and sent us back to hostel. The first aid was not good because the guy who had his bone dislocated was wrapped in a sprain bandage, blood again started to come as soon as we came out of the hospital. He was admitted in a private hospital.
It was horrifying and I couldn’t come out of the shock for a week. I was trembling and everyone was shocked that nothing big happened to me as the whole window broke and fell on me and I was covered with glass pieces, except bleeding from my face.
