srilanka
 81 percent  of ppl were sinhala speaking
18 ercent were tamil speaking
these 18 per Tamil speaking were divided in 2 grps indian Tamils n sriLankan Tamils 
13 per were srilankan tamils
7 percent were indian tamils

Sri Lanka comprises various communities and diverse population which signifies its complex ethnicity like:

⇒ Sinhala speaking accounts for 74% of the total population and enjoys majoritarian status in the country.

⇒ The another community is Tamil speaking with has two subgroups:

  • The Sri Lankan Tamils which account for 13 per cent. They are the natives of Sri Lanka.
  • The Indian Tamils account for 5 per cent. They are of Indian origin.

⇒ About 7 per cent of the population is Christians (both Tamils and Sinhalas ).

⇒ Rest 1 per cent are Muslims.
