India's contacts with the outside world have continued through the ages and are much older.
i. India has been a centre of trade and market for many countries in ancient times.
ii. The other parts of the world were connected to India with silk trade.
iii. In medieval times, India attracted European countries for trade. British developed the Suez Canal for easy and fast access to India.
