(a) The proportion of poor people is not the same in every state. (b) Government has made many efforts to reduce poverty by following various programmers but the success rate of reducing poverty is different in different states.
The distribution of poverty is not same throughout the country. Few states experience worse poverty conditions and few states have slightly less as compared to other states. Unequal distribution of land and resources is another vital cause for poverty in India. To fulfil the demands of social obligations and religious ceremonies the poor community end up spending a lot which leads to poverty. Inequality in earning the income of the people is also a wide cause for poverty.the sucesss rate of reducing poverty varies from state to state causing inter state disparities in poverty level. Orissa,Bihar and madhya Pradesh are the three poorest state in India with there people living below poverty line being 47,42 and 37 present respectively.
