Subhas Chandra Bose (23 January 1897 – 18 August)was an Indian nationalist whose defiant patriotism made him a hero in India,but whose attempt during World War II to rid India of British rule with the help of Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan left a troubled legacy. The honorific Netaji (Hindustani: "Respected Leader"), first applied in early 1942 to Bose in Germany by the Indian soldiers of the Indische Legion and by the German and Indian officials in the Special Bureau for India in Berlin, was later used throughout India

• Subhash Chandra Bose was born on 23 January, 1897 in Cuttack (Orissa).His parents was Janakinath Bose and Prabhavati Devi.
• He passed his B.A. in Philosophy from the Presidency College in Calcutta.
• He decided to take action, after reading so many incidents about the exploitation of the Indians by the British.
• He revived the Indian National Army, popularly known as ‘Azad Hind Fauj’ in 1943 which was  formed in 1942 by Rash Behari Bose.
• In freedom struggle congress was large organisation. Subhash Chandra Bose became a strong leader in Congress and he made brave attempt to change the entire party differently.
• He was against rendering any help to the British during the World War II. He warned them so.
•   He now started a mass movement against processing Indian resources and men for the great war.
• During his sojourn to England, he met with the leaders of British Labor Party and political thinkers .He also discuss with them about the future of India.
• Although it was believed that Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose died in a plane crash, his body was never recovered.
• He died in August 18, 1945, Taipei
