Answer:

The atmosphere can be divided into layers based on its temperature, as shown in the figure below. These layers are the troposphere, the stratosphere, the mesosphere and the thermosphere. A further region, beginning about 500 km above the Earth's surface, is called the exosphere.

give an account of the different layers of atmosphere .

 \huge  \colorbox {maroon}{answer}

our atmosphere has five different layers.

they are :

  1. troposphere
  2. stratosphere
  3. mesosphere
  4. thermosphere
  5. exosphere

one by one explanation:

  • troposphere: this is the densest and most important layer of the atmosphere with average height of the atmosphere with average of 13km we find the air we breathe. all the weather phenomenon such as rainfall, fog and hailstorm occur here
  • stratosphere: this layer lies above the layer of troposphere.it extends up to a height of 50km. it presents the most ideal conditions for flying aeroplanes. it contains a layer of ozone gas which protects us from harmful effect of the sun rays
  • mesosphere: it lies above the stratosphere. this layer extends up to the height of 80 km. meteorites burns up in this layer on entering from the space
  • thermosphere : it lies above the mesosphere . in this layer temperature rises very rapidly with increasing height. inonsphere is a part of this layer. it extends between 80 - 40 km . ratio waves transmitted from the earth are reflected back to the earth by this layer.
  • exosphere: it is the upper most layer where there is very thin air. light gases such as helium and hydrogen float into the space from here.
