Major social groups:- The sinhalas speaking 74% and the Tamil 18%. Among Tamil they are two subgroup. Tamil native of the country 'Srilanka'.

Sinhala:- The sinhalas community form of majority of the population (76%) with Tamil (18%) who are mostly concerned in the north and east of island, forming the Largest ethnic majority.

Religion:- Sri Lanka population practice of variety of religion. As 2011 census 70.1% of Sri Lanka were theravada Buddhist, 12.6% of Hindu, 9.7% were Muslim and 6.2% of Roma Catholic and 1.4% of other religions

Area of concentration:- In Sri Lanka sinhalas 74% of the population and concentration in density populated in southeast.

Tamils:- In Sri Lanka, Tamils in South India ancestors have live on the island centuries. total about 12% thought out the county.
