1) The part which lies between Indus and Satluj river is known as Punjab Himalayas.

2) The part lying between Satluj and Kali rivers are known as Kumaon Himalayas.

3) The part lying between Kali and Teesta river is known as Nepal Himalayas.

4) The part lying between Teesta and Dihang river is known as Assam Himalayas.

Beyond Dihang gorge, the Himalayas spread along the eastern boundary and are known as Purvanchal mountains.
