The picture on the left shows the majority of the Earth's distribution of its water. As you may know, freshwater is water that contains less than 1% of salt in it. The worldwide distribution of freshwater and valuable things greatly change from one area to the next. An 'inventory' of Earth'swaters shows that about 97% of the worldwide water supply is held in the oceans, which are actually salt water. Also, a small amount of salt is additionally located in salt lakes ( like theCaspian Sea). The water that is left over in our inventory (3%) is 'freshwater'. Permanent ice (e.g.,continental and mountain huge masses of ice) is the one of the biggest freshwater storage on Earth, accounting for just around 2% of the total entire national supply - which surprisingly pans out to about 69% of the accumulative freshwater supplies. Freshwater is also found beneath the Earth's surface as (underground water that supplies about 30% of the entire freshwater supply) and in surface water holders like lakes, streams, swamps and wetlands.
