Give an account of the main endocrine gland, the hormones secreted by them and their functions. Hormones released from endocrine gland are secreted into the blood stream and are circulated throughout the body. How do they affect the other body parts they come in contact with, other than the parts they are supposed to act upon.

Thyroid   - Thyroxine - Metabolism

Pancreas - Insulin - Maintains blood glucose level

Pituitary Gland - Stimulating Hormone & GH - Helps other glands stimulate and produce hormones

Adrenal - Adrenaline  - Helps the body respond to stress

Hormones are directly released at the target site, but without ducts. Therefore, they do not affect other parts.
