The Northern plains are a large stretch of fertile land formed by the alluvial deposition by the Indus, Ganga, Brahmaputra and their tributaries. They are among the largest plains in the world. They consist of tree large plains:
1. The Punjab-Haryana Plain
2. The Ganga Plain
3. The Brahmaputra Plain.

Account of the Northern plains :-

The northern plain has been formed by the interplay of the three major river system, namely - the Indus, the Ganga, tha Brahmaputra along with their tributaries. This plain is formed of alluvial soil. The northern plain is broadly divided into three sections. The western last of the northern plain is known as the Punjab Plains. Formed by the Hindus and it's tributaries ,the larger part of this plain lies in Pakistan. The Indus and its tributaries such as jhelum ,the chenab , the Ravi, the news and the asylum originate in the Himalayas.
